“Those who love wisdom must investigate many things.” - Heraclitus of Ephesus

Christina Marie Bullard is a lover of wisdom, who lives to push her creative limits and experience inspirational knowledge.  Her art works are driven by spiritual myths, symbolism and organic patterns from the natural, human and esoteric worlds.  Being born and raised as a Southern California native she was influenced to become a multi-media artist after discovering her artistic inclination as early as elementary school.  Her artistic mission is to create enlightening expressions by transforming the ancient material of silica into vessels for story telling, sound healing and sacred teaching.  She is driven to flow inspired creativity into the world through multi medium alchemical transformations.

Christina was initiated into working with glass art at Santa Monica College (SMC) in 2004.  In 2006 she began a 2 ½ year apprenticeship with Ali Shival at Viccolo Glass in North Hollywood, CA, working her way up to assistant gaffer. While at SMC she received her first scholarship to study at the Pilchuck School of Craft with Davide Salvadore in 2007.  After 3 years at SMC and Viccolo Glass she transferred to Cal State University Fullerton (CSUF) to pursue a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in glass and ceramics under Joe Cariati & John Leighton. In the summer of 2008, she received a scholarship to the Summer Arts Fresno where she studied with Therman Staton and Micheal Shiner.  While at the university, she has received scholarships from the Art Alliance at CSUF, served as the Hot Glass Club representative and earned a BFA, with honors, in the fall semester of 2010.  She has also become a commissioned artist by Red Bull and a number of private collectors.

Bullard is well known in the west coast art community for being a multi-talented performance artist specializing in Fusion Dance and Cirque Performance art.  One of her great joys in life is the work of integrating the modalities of fine art and performance into one complete expression.  Since her 1st exposure to soft glass she developed an immediate love of this molten material and its maleable forms. Because of this relationship, she has developed great respect for and appreciation of working with soft glass.  During her tenure at CSUF she refined her innate abilities to synergize ceramics, metals, glass and other media into dynamic and visionary installations.

Christina believes, like Heraclitus, "that a person who loves wisdom must investigate many things."  It is this understanding that drives her professional evolution, shapes her creative expressions and inspires her to bring her art to the world.
